Summary
This extensive program is a necessity for any diabetes library. It helps patients understand the causes of type 2 diabetes and how different oral medications, including combination medications, can help them keep blood glucose levels in control. Covers more than a dozen medications including sitagliptin (Januvia®) and their common side effects. A chapter devoted to exenatide (Byetta®) provides the educator with the opportunity to introduce a patient to non-insulin injectable medications. The program concludes with a chapter on the safe use of medications including information on hypoglycemia and sick days. Additional sections at the end of the video allow you to select content based on the classification of each medication.
Chapters include:
- How Oral Diabetes Medications Work
- How Byetta® Works
- How to Use Your Medications Safely
