UTP 31        152 slides        $185
(includes Helicobacter pylori supplement)
The complete unit gives major coverage to the pathophysiology of duodenal ulcer and gastric ulcer. Some of the specific aspects presented are acid/pepsin secretion, cellular and extracellular factors that regulate luminal pH, pepsinogens, gastric emptying, and gastrointestinal hormones. The bacteriology and epidemiology of Helicobacter pylori are presented, as well as its association with gastritis and ulcer diseases. Topics covered under pathophysiology of GE reflux include the role of lower esophageal sphincter function and aspects of esophageal motility. Other topics contained in the unit are upper GI anatomy and pathology, epidemiology of peptic ulcer diseases, and the physiology and pathophysiologic aspects of the gastric mucosa. In addition, some clinical aspects of endoscopic negative dyspepsia, gastric and duodenal ulcer, and the pharmacologic basis of ulcer treatment are included. Thirteen slides were deleted from the original release. This information is now updated by the H. pylori supplement which is included.
