Before importing images you must have:
- The file import filter for Windows Pic Images (file extension '.pic'
installed with PowerPoint® on your computer. All required import
filters are included with PowerPoint installation disks. Please refer
to your PowerPoint® documentation for details.
- Have a list of the Unit number(s) and Slide number(s) from the CTP
CD-ROM, which you wish to import.
To import image files into PowerPoint®:
- Launch PowerPoint® and open a blank presentation
- From the INSERT menu in the PowerPoint® menu bar select the
PICTURE menu option
- The INSERT PICTURE dialog box in PowerPoint will appear. In the
FILES OF TYPE drop down menu (lower left corner of the dialog box)
select the ALL FILES option
- Navigate to the CTP CD-ROM and select the <Drive Letter>\CTP\PICfolder
(this folder contains all images in the CD, stored as Macintosh and
Windows readable Pic file formats)
- Viewing the contents of this folder, select the unit number which
contains the image(s) you wish to import (its extension will be '.pic')
- Once in the folder, select the slide number you wish to import as
a PowerPoint® image.
- Double-click on the desired slide number.
- The file will be imported as a graphic file into the PowerPoint®
presentation you selected.
Note: Importing into other programs, including word processing and
page layout applications is identical in this process, but will vary
in specific menu commands required.
