Esophageal Disorders

CTP 9        140 Slides        $175

Now available in PowerPoint® on CD-ROM

This extensive collection of original slides summarizes the diagnostic features, clinical characteristics, and practical management of numerous esophageal disorders, both common and rare. The viewer is guided down the normal and abnormal esophagus through a series of anatomic drawings, endoscopic photographs, radiographs, CT scans, endoscopic ultrasonograms, histology slides, and displays of esophageal motility studies. Not only does the material cover classic esophageal motility disorders such as achalasia and scleroderma, but information is provided on controversial motility problems, including nutcracker esophagus and hypertensive lower esophageal sphincter.

The pathophysiology of gastroesophageal reflux disease and its complications, including stricture and Barrett's esophagus, are reviewed in detail. Also, a wealth of clinical material is provided about non-cardiac chest pain, esophageal tumors, rings and webs, diverticula, caustic ingestions, and hiatal hernias.

"The strengths of this unit are its outstanding illustrations. The photomicrographs of x-rays, endoscopic pictures, histology, and anatomic illustrations are the best I have had the pleasure to review. Superimposing the illustrations on the CT scans and x-rays is a particularly effective way of depicting normal and abnormal anatomy."
